Exercise Equipment

Keeping in shape involves a lot of dedication, motivation, and time. Don't expect miracle results quickly, but if you persevere and stick it out you will eventually see the rally promising results.

Some people will tell you that you don't need any equipment to get in shape at home. All you need to do is follow the advice given by trainers and others in, for example, their specially prepared videos and books. That is true, and we've added a selection of this kind of material for you to consider if you decide not to choose any particular piece of equipment.

But if you decide that it makes more sense to use one or more items of exercise equipment for yourself or for the whole family, we show below a variety of great machines to use in the privacy of your home.

Let's take a look what they can do.

Rowing Machines

Many people say the rowing machine is the best bit of kit to have in the home because it of its ability to provide you with a full-body workout without any other equipment. Because it has a low impact it won't put any undue strain on your muscles and can therefore be used by almost everyone. It's not the type of equipment that will build muscle; it will instead, however, help to tone your body.

Total Gyms

As the name implies, a Total Gym is designed so you can exercise various parts of your body using different techniques set out in an accompanying set of instructions. It is normally adjustable for some specific exercises, such as a stomach crunch, and the impact levels will depend on how you set it up. You can look forward to building muscle with dedication and over time.

Treadmills

A very popular choice for many people, the treadmill is not designed for muscle development. Instead, it is particularly good at helping you burn calories and lose weight. It is a great way to perform cardio exercises and you can choose to walk, jog, or run. One downside is their relative bulk, so look for a folding model that will take up less space.

Exercise Bikes

An exercise bike is another highly popular piece of equipment for the home. Cycling on a stationary bike provides cardiovascular exercise and is much kinder on the joints when compared, for example, to a treadmill while at the same time enabling you to burn off those excess calories and lose weight.
